SHOCKING images show the wreckage of a glider after it smashed into a Scots beauty spot.
The pilot of the aircraft was airlifted to hospital after the horror incident yesterday afternoon.
Emergency crews raced to Bishop Hill in Perth and Kinross after the alarm was raised.
Officers also scrambled to the area at around 2pm.
The extent of his injuries are not yet known.
However, police have confirmed that he was rushed to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.
An air ambulance and Mountain Rescue teams were spotted in attendance last night.
And now photos from the scene have shown the extent of the wreckage after the smash.
The bright blue glider lay stuck in a large shrub on the hill with the wings poking out the sides.
Debris was scattered on the ground with parts of the canopy and cockpit ripped out.
The belt was still attached to the seat, but the surrounds parts of the nose lay broken and cracked.
The tail of the aircraft had also broken off and lay to the side of the wings.
Police have confirmed that the Air Accidents Investigation Branch have launched a probe into the crash.
A Police Spokesperson said: “Around 1.50pm on Tuesday, 7 November, police were called to a report of a glider crash at Bishop Hill, Kinross.
“Officers attended and a man was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.
“The incident is being investigated by the AAIB.”
