Simone Biles, like most Green Bay Packers fans, reacted to the team’s incredible first half of the Thanksgiving Day game against the Detroit Lions on social media with a ton of excitement.
Specifically, the gymnastics legend was focusing on one important player she’s “thankful” for who starred before a national audience on Thursday: her husband, Packers safety Jonathan Owens, who recorded his first career defensive touchdown that concluded a huge first quarter for the Packers.
Owens had the smarts to pick up a live ball after Rashan Gary forced a fumble on Lions quarterback Jared Goff in the first quarter.
No whistle was blown, despite some players likely thinking it was an incomplete forward pass, and Owens ran it in from 27 yards for the touchdown.
You could say Biles was just a little pumped up by her reaction.
“THATS MY HUSBAND” Biles tweeted in pure jubilation after the touchdown with almost as many exclamation points as she has gymnastics gold medals.

Owens’ touchdown gave the Packers a 20-6 lead with 2:23 left in the first quarter.
Biles also took to her Instagram story to say how “proud” she is of Owens. She celebrated the victory with a post-game tweet: “A PACKERS WIN BABY!!!!!!!!!”
Owens has started the last several games after injuries ravaged the Packers’ secondary this season. And after a slow start, he’s providing the Packers defense with performances worthy of gold lately.
In addition to the huge scoop and score, he had a game-high 12 tackles, eight of which were solo. It’s the second straight game he led the Packers in tackles.
Owens was feasting on one particular play when he drilled Jahmyr Gibbs late in the third quarter.
Owens signed with the Packers in the offseason a week after he and Biles were married in a destination wedding.
Biles, the most decorated gymnast of all time, is coming off an all-around world championship last month in her return to competition after two years off following the 2021 Olympics.
Owens celebrated all of her accomplishments — which also included a record-setting US championship in August — from afar on social media.
Now, Biles is doing the same for him on the big stage.
