SSC CGL Recruitment 2024: Salary, perks, allowances
According to the notice issued by the Staff Selection Commission, the SSC CGL Salary 2024 ranges from Rs.25,500 to 1,51,000, including perks, depending on the specific designation and job responsibilities.
The Salary for each position within SSC CGL varies based on designated pay grade levels, ranging from Rs. 25,500 to Rs. 1,51,100. This comprehensive sum includes additional benefits such as House Rent Allowance (HRA), Travel Allowance, Dearness Allowance (DA), and more. The pay is influenced by post descriptions and pay scales under the seventh pay commission, availability of various allowances and benefits, the impact of post-classifications and candidate preferences on the salary, and optional deductions for medical expenses or insurance among others.

SSC CGL Recruitment 2024: Selection process
The SSC CGL (Combined Graduate Level) selection process consists of multiple stages designed to assess the candidates comprehensively. Here is a detailed breakdown of the process:
Tier 1: Computer-Based Test
Candidates who successfully complete the SSC CGL 2024 application form by June 24, 2024, will be eligible to sit for the Tier 1 exam. The Tier 1 exam is a computer-based test comprising 100 questions worth a total of 200 marks. Each correct answer will earn the candidate 2 marks, while each incorrect answer will result in a deduction of 0.50 marks. The questions will cover four subjects: English Language, General Awareness, General Intelligence and Reasoning, and Quantitative Aptitude. To prepare effectively, candidates can review previous years’ SSC CGL question papers.
Tier 2: Computer-Based Test
Candidates who pass the Tier 1 exam will advance to the Tier 2 exam, which is also conducted online. The Tier 2 exam consists of three papers: Paper-I, Paper-II, and Paper-III. All papers feature objective-type, multiple-choice questions, with the exception of Module-II of Section-III of Paper-I. The exam will be available in both English and Hindi, except for the English Language and Comprehension module in Section II of Paper-I. Negative marking applies: 1 mark is deducted for each incorrect answer in Section-I, Section-II, and Module-I of Section-III of Paper-I, and 0.50 marks are deducted for each incorrect answer in Paper-II and Paper-III.
Document Verification (DV)
Following the Tier 2 exam, candidates who qualify will proceed to the document verification stage. This step ensures that all the submitted documents are authentic and meet the eligibility criteria set by SSC.
SSC CGL Recruitment 2024: Age limit, reservation criteria
The age limits for different posts in SSC CGL are as follows: 18-27 years for certain posts, 20-30 years for others, 18-30 years for another category, and 18-32 years for yet another set of positions. Candidates must have been born between 02-08-1997 and 01-08-2006 for the first category, between 02-08-1994 and 01-08-2004 for the second category, between 02-08-1994 and 01-08-2006 for the third category, and between 02-08-1992 and 01-08-2006 for the fourth category.
The SSC has stated that state-wise or zone-wise vacancies are not collected by the Commission. Reservation for Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), Ex-Servicemen (ESM), and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) candidates for all categories of posts/services, wherever applicable and admissible, is determined and communicated by the Indenting Ministries, Departments, Offices, and Cadres, as per extant Government Orders. Vacancies for ESM are reserved only for Group “C” posts.
