Steve Harvey was shocked into silence after Family Feud contestant and “A Star is Born” actor Willam Belli revealed a hairily hidden surprise during an episode of “Celebrity Family Feud.”
The episode, which aired Sunday, featured cast members of the show “Drag Me to Dinner,” including Harris and his husband David Burtka, who faced a team of drag queens for a prize of $25,000 to be donated to a charity of their choice.
Things were relatively tame before Belli, a drag queen who was the only contestant ever disqualified from RuPaul’s “Drag Race,” pulled a banana out of her hair before taking a bite as the audience burst out into laughter and applause.
Harvey remained stunned in silence, mouth agape, as Belli handed her fellow contestant the banana, to which he responded by taking a large bite and flashing a sly smile.
Belli then offered Harvey the banana, which he declined with a look of bewilderment as the audience laughed and continued to cheer.
With a final, victorious bite, Belli tossed the banana aside, while Harvey, still reeling from the shock, exclaimed “You pulled a banana out of your hair!”
“You thought it was a banana in my wig, but I was just happy to see you,” Belli then suggestively told the host, sparking more laughs.
Fans went wild over the bizarre moment, some taking to Twitter to voice their reactions.
“Omg when [Belli] pulled the Banana out of her hair I thought Steve was gonna die I laughed so hard,” one fan tweeted, according to The Sun.
Another wrote, “yeah I agree this episode has gone Bananas,” while another wrote “pulling a banana out of her wig during Family Feud? truly our nation’s finest comedian.”
The show continued with Harvey still taken aback by the contents of the elaborate wig, before moving on to a risqué category that prompted another raunchy moment from Belli.
“Something that married people do that a dog might do while making love,” Harvey announced, and Belli quickly buzzed in before saying “Eat a–,” the final word being censored for broadcast television.
Viewers could only guess what the R-rated answer was, leaving them to ask Belli over Twitter: “@willam what did you say on Family Feud that got bleeped?!”
One viewer tweeted about the sexual nature of the question, asking “This was a family show?”
“They come up with these risqué questions so don’t be surprised when contestants say inappropriate things,” responded another viewer, defending Belli’s answer.
Most viewers seemed in support of Belli’s response, with more tweets like “The questions are always super suggestive and the answers are dirty. Plus this is really not that crazy.”
Belli’s censored answer was still deemed correct, and her team, which featured drag stars including Manila Luzone and BenDeLaCremewent, went on to win the game and the charity money, which they donated to the ACLU drag defense fund.
