The Australian Athletics Championships continue in Adelaide as the nation’s best juniors compete for glory.

The 101st edition of the event has had plenty of fantastic storylines so far with 18-year-old Claudia Hollingsworth recording the second-fastest time ever in the Women’s 800m on her way to becoming national champion.

Luke Boyes, 20, held off 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games silver medallist Peter Bol in a thrilling battle in the Men’s 800m Final.

The event runs until Friday, 19th April at SA Athletics Stadium.

The second event of the Premier Boxing Series comes to 7plus with Lachlan O’Shea taking on Joel Taylor.

The Hockeyroos begin their Test series against the China and Japan women’s teams on Saturday night.

Part of the Perth International Festival of Hockey, the Australian international teams are playing in Test series before taking off to Paris for the Olympic Games.

The Kookaburras swept the India men’s team in a five-game series with the Hockeyroos set to take on China and Japan in two matches each.

The Autumn Carnival comes to a close in Sydney at Royal Randwick featuring two Group 1s, the All Aged Stakes over 1400m and the Champagne Stakes over 1600m for the two-year-olds.

The VFL, SANFL and WAFL take place across the weekend with three games streaming nationally on 7plus.

Claremont will look to obtain their first win of the WAFL season as they face Subiaco in Round 4 on Saturday afternoon. Currently sitting at the bottom of the ladder, Claremont are the only side to not win a game in 2024. Subiaco have won two of their first three matches of the season.

Carlton and Port Melbourne meet in Round 4 of the VFL on Sunday afternoon. Both sides are looking for their first win of the season with the Blues losing to North Melbourne and Collingwood, while the Boroughs have suffered defeats against Casey, Frankston and Southport.

League leaders Woodville-West Torrens Eagles host Port Adelaide in Round 3 of the SANFL on Sunday afternoon. It will be a tall order for Port Adelaide who are winless so far this season and face the Eagles on their home soil.
