Sequino brings a wealth of experience from her tenure as CEO of JLo Beauty and an extensive background at Estee Lauder companies and Procter & Gamble.

At Estee Lauder Companies, she led global strategy and growth for consumer and lifestyle brands including Tom Ford Beauty and Estee Lauder. Most recently, she served as the head of North America, where she oversaw all 24 brands across the Estee Lauder Companies portfolio.

“Lisa brings such super experience and perspective to the table, having built her career scaling and accelerating growth within both established luxury and upstart beauty brands alike. But most importantly, she fully understands and is passionate about our mission, which is to change the way the world thinks about sunscreen through innovation and inspiration––and ultimately to help stop the epidemic of skin cancer,” said Supergoop founder Holly Thaggard.

“We have only scratched the surface, and Lisa’s energy, expertise, and excitement make her the perfect partner for us as category creators on this global stage, as we continue creating a brighter future for all, around the world. I am beyond thrilled to welcome her to the Supergoop family, and as I always say to our team, the very best is yet to come.”

Supergoop has been at the forefront of SPF innovation, introducing products such as Unseen Sunscreen Body SPF 40, Glowscreen SPF 40, and Lipshade 100% Mineral SPF 30 Hydrating Lipsticks. Sequino’s appointment follows the company’s global expansion in 2023, penetrating over 20 new markets.

In 2022, Supergoop secured investments from prominent figures such as Sara Blakely, Founder of Spanx, and Whitney Wolfe Herd, Founder of Bumble. Additionally, funds managed by Blackstone Growth provided a majority investment in late 2021, fueling Supergoop’s mission to drive consumer behavior change and expand its national and global reach.

“I’ve long admired Holly’s vision, her authentic story, and the category she created nearly 20 years ago with Supergoop. The brand’s mission is a powerful one and they truly shifted consumer behavior toward daily SPF use,” said Sequino.

“This special brand has an incredibly strong infrastructure, passionate brand loyalists and significant reach already, and I’m excited by the tremendous opportunity ahead to further expand its global footprint and bring new innovative products to market. I’m thrilled to partner with the team and help shape the next chapter in the Supergoop journey.”

Coinciding with the appointment, Supergoop bolstered its leadership team with the appointment of Michael Spillane to its board of directors. Spillane’s extensive experience in brand building and strategic operations, particularly from his time at Nike, Inc., is expected to further strengthen Supergoop’s position in the industry.
