SUPERSPORT UNITED DECIDE ON GAVIN HUNT’S FUTURE

It was not a season to remember. Hunt, a former three-time DStv Premiership champion with the same club, finished this season in seventh place. With his contract ending on 30 June, a new deal has been agreed on.

“SuperSport United have put an end to speculation regarding coach Gavin Hunt after the two parties agreed terms on a new deal, SABC Sport can confirm,” Mazola Molefe reported.

“It’s understood the finer details are also being ironed out, with an announcement likely to be made before the start of the 2024/25 campaign,” the report added.

MEMORIES ON KAIZER CHIEFS

The SuperSport tactician has long moved on from his Kaizer Chiefs disappointment, but the experience will always mark his memories.

Millions of Amakhosi fans were rejoicing on the day the four-time DStv Premiership champion moved to Kaizer Chiefs. Unfortunately for Hunt, the move was not a success.

Hunt surprisingly led the club to the CAF Champions League final, but was dramatically released by Kaizer Chiefs before the biggest game in Africa.

“Chiefs was fantastic, I got to the semi-finals, and I got fired. so I could not take the team to the final,” Hunt said via FARPost.

“That was a real disappointment for me, but it is something that will live with me for the rest of my life, but it is what it is,” the SuperSport coach concluded.

SABELO RADEBE TO SUPERSPORT?

Meanwhile, new reports believe tha Hunt is keen to sign Sabelo Radebe from Kaizer Chiefs.

“SuperSport United are believed to be keen on Kaizer Chiefs youngster Sabelo Radebe – but not on loan as proposed by Amakhosi. Chiefs, however, still see a future for ‘Bibo’ at the club and are only willing to send him out on loan,” Soccer Laduma reported.

“Matsatsantsa, according to Siya sources, is understood to be keen on the player; however, they do not agree with the terms of a loan. Instead, the Tshwane outfit wants to land the player outright or at least have the option to purchase him at the end of his loan term as the club did with Grant Margerman and Siphesihle Ndlovu from Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates respectively,” the outlet added.
