Susan Fang Fall 2024 Ready-to-Wear Runway, Fashion Show & Collection Review

One can always expect an Instagram-worthy moment at a Susan Fang show.

For fall 2024, the designer conjured a giant net dipping in and out of soapy water with fans blowing bubbles. Models walked in between them on the runway in a fantastical mix of frills, beads, chiffons, and puffers. This setting was inspired by the scene of jelly fish migrating en masse in the ocean.

Fang said her idea of the collection came from the concept of a home. There was sorrow for those living in war-torn lands longing for peace, but also unparalleled joy as she had just tied the knot with her engineer husband.

The final look, a short bridal number made with organza ribbons arranged in a web-like pattern, was the actual dress she wore. It was designed by her mother, who has been closely involved in developing unique textile techniques for the brand.

Overall, the pastel colors, the feminine shapes, and the floral embroideries were delightful and carried her wish for a peaceful world. Items from her Victoria’s Secret capsule blended in organically with her signature see-through dresses and cute knits in gradient hues. The show also featured 13 pairs of experimental sneakers in collaboration with Nike.
