Two Australian silver and bronze medallists have touched down in Perth after a successful Olympic debut.
Swimmers Iona Anderson and Joshua Yong arrived at Perth Airport on Friday morning donning their green and gold uniforms.
Ms Anderson, 18, claimed two medals at her first Olympic Games, a silver medal in the Women’s 4x100m Medley Relay and a bronze in the Mixed 4×100 Medley Relay.
Also his first Olympics, Mr Yong, 23, swam alongside Anderson in the 4×100 Medley Relay and took home a bronze medal.
The two athletes were greeted with hugs from family and friends and posters decked out in green and gold to welcome them home.
Others held signs reading “Aussie, Aussie, Aussie” as the pair entered the airport after a along journey home.
Ms Anderson and Mr Yong posed for photos with their medals worn proudly around their necks.
The pair’s arrival comes just three days before the games are set to come to an end in Paris, with the closing ceremony to kick off in the early hours of Monday morning for those in Australia.
The majority of Australia’s Olympians are expected to arrive home next week after what has been hailed the country’s most successful games.
