Perth

This swish steakhouse opened its first venue outside Sydney in Perth last week, giving west coast steak aficionados a reason to celebrate.

6Head offers high-end Wagyu from the Limestone Coast’s Mayura Station, but they do more than just steak, the restaurant’s ‘raw bar’ is stacked with Blue Ridge Marron, Freo Occy, Oysters, and daily seafood specials, such as raw trout and scallops (hot tip: try the Ceviche).

Their side dishes are also a cut above (Brussels sprouts to write home about). Try not to lose your head.

Rockpool Bar and Grill

Burswood

Having long been the gold standard in Perth for steak, it’s hard to find fault in this sophisticated restaurant in the Crown complex that dry ages its beef on the premises.

As for the rest of the menu – the Mac And Cheese would make the list for our last meal. Head chef Brendan Owens has been heading up the kitchen since 2021, and his background as a pastry chef has seen the dessert offerings elevated to something extra-special.

Perth

Do you like meat? And wine? Well, do we have the place for you. The Meat and Wine Co does what it says on the tin. But we love the plush dining room and polished service which makes this inner-city spot a go-to for a business dinner to impress.

Perth

Not only is this restaurant inside the QT Hotel one of our favourite dining rooms in the city, the QT Rib Eye – an impressive 320g of beef served with anchovy and lemon Butter – is the stuff of meaty dreams. Away from the steaks, their pasta offering is a cut above.

Mayfair Lane Pub and Dining Room

West Perth

The Mayfair calls itself a British-style gastro pub, which seems to mean they are contractually obligated to serve fish and chips, but the steak is what they do best. Starting with 200g of eye fillet, the offerings gradually get larger until you are eating half a cow. Take friends. Hungry friends.
