Telangana announces Sankranti holidays for schools, inter colleges

During the Sankranti festival, schools in Telangana will have a short break lasting six days, from January 12 to 18, 2024.
For Intermediate students, the Sankranti vacation will be observed from January 13 to 16, and junior colleges will resume classes on January 17.
Following the holidays, Formative Assessment (FA 4) for Class 1st to 10th is scheduled from January 29 to February 29, 2024.Additionally, Summative Assessment (SA 2) will take place from April 08 to 18, 2024.
Intermediate students will undergo their pre-final exams from January 22 to 29, 2024, and practical examinations are slated for February 01 to 15.
The Telangana Board of Secondary Education (BSE) has published the schedule for the Class 10 exams in 2024. According to the notification, the exams will start on March 18 and end on April 2, 2024. Each SSC exam will last for 3 hours, starting at 9:30 am and concluding at 12:30 pm.
Makar Sankranti is a three-day festival in Telangana known as ‘Bhogi‘, ‘Sankranti’, and ‘Kanuma’.
Following tradition, people light a bonfire called ‘Bhogi’ outside their homes in the morning, and kids and young people enjoy flying kites.
The second day is dedicated to celebrating ‘Sankranti’, and the final day, called ‘Kanuma’, involves worshipping livestock.
