‘The Dragon Prince’ Is Live Right Now After Pirates Took Hostages At San Diego Comic-Con

One of the best shows on Netflix just got a new release date. The fifth season of The Dragon Prince was set to go live next weekend alongside The Witcher, but the release date has been moved up.

During a San Diego Comic-Con panel with the show’s creators, Aaron Ehasz and Justin Richmond, pirates showed up and took the panel hostage. The terms of the seafaring ne’er-do-wells were simple: Release the new season, or pay the ultimate price. Netflix had no choice but to release the new season immediately.

This means that if you go to Netflix right now The Dragon Prince Season 5 is already live and ready to watch. Even better news: It’s really, really good. Much better than Season 4.

I’ll have my Season 5 review up shortly, but the TL;DR version is this: The story of Callum (Jack De Sena), Ezran (Sasha Rojen), Rayla (Paula Burrows), Viren (Jason Simpson), Claudia (Racquel Belmonte), Soren (Jesse Inocalla) and all the rest, including the villainous Startouch Elf Aaravos (Erik Dellums, who spells his first name correctly) is excellent and I’m so excited for all the fans!
