– Men’s 100m (6.38pm) Rohan Browning has his first serious hit-out of 2024 against a field including Japan’s Ryota Yamagata, who boasts a personal best of 9.95 seconds.
– Women’s 100m hurdles (7.15pm) – American Queen Claye (12.43) owns the best PB in a field including leading Australians Michelle Jenneke and Liz Clay.
– Men’s discus (7.30pm) – Diamond League champ Matt Denny will be keen to avenge a surprise loss last weekend in Adelaide to Kiwi Connor Bell. Towering Brit Lawrence Okoya should also challenge.
– Women’s 800m (7.35pm) – Catriona Bisset heads a strong local contingent including Abbey Caldwell and Linden Hall. American Brooke Feldmeier can’t be discounted.
– Men’s mile (8.20pm) – Shapes as the best race of the night. Britain’s 2022 world champ over 1500m, Jake Wightman, looks in ominous early-season shape. Stewart McSweyn, Jye Edwards and boom teenager Cameron Myers head up the home squad.
– Women’s 100m (8.30pm) – Fresh from setting an Australian record of 11.10 last month in Canberra, Torrie Lewis comes up against the Oceania record holder, New Zealander Zoe Hobbs (10.96).
