If you’re not on an unlimited data mobile plan, chances are you’ve been charged for excess data usage or had to wait for your next billing cycle to be able to use data again at some point.

Just a handful of telcos offer unlimited data in Australia. To be clear — there’s still a monthly data allowance, but once it’s used up you’re not hit with fees or left stranded. Instead, your speeds are slowed to a couple of megabits per second (or on felix’s unlimited plan, 20Mbps).

A few megabits should be enough to stream standard video, stream music and browse the web.
