KUWAIT CITY, Aug 17: The Al-Arabi Handball team made a triumphant return to international competition, securing a significant victory against Egypt’s Zamalek with a score of 33-32. The match took place during the second group stage of the 38th Arab Handball Clubs Championship, hosted by the Saudi Al-Huda Club in the city of Al-Qatif. This championship runs until August 27 and serves as a qualifier for the World Club Championship “Super Globe,” scheduled to be held in the Saudi city of Dammam from November 7 to 12.

Al-Akhdar team earned its first two points in the tournament, matching Zamalek’s performance after both teams played two matches. In the initial group phase, the “Kuwait” team found itself in a tie game against the National Bank of Egypt, ending with a 32-32 scoreline, despite maintaining a lead until the final moments.

Al-Abyad currently holds 3 points, whereas the bank has accumulated two points from its first match.

The competition continues today, featuring Al-Arabi facing off against the Yemeni torch team at 3:00 in the afternoon, followed by the “Kuwait” team taking on Saudi Mudar at 5:00 in the evening.
