Tiger Woods reveals plans to ‘ruin’ new logo less than a day after launching new Sun Day Red brand

On Wednesday, he then launched his own clothing brand “Sun Day Red”, a nod to him famously wearing red for the final round of tournaments.

The logo is a tiger with 15 different stripes – one for each of the major titles he has collected since his first triumph at The Masters back in 1997.

But with a burning desire to add more to his haul, Woods is hoping to destroy the meaning of the logo by claiming a 16th major.

Speaking to TODAY host Carson Daly, he said: “So the logo is a tiger, it’s a simple thing.

“It’s nice and clean, but there is some representation of what I have done in my career.

“If you look at the stripes, there are 15 stripes, and as you alluded to earlier I’ve won 15 major championships.

“My goal is to ruin the logo. I want to keep ruining the logo.

“If the trademark is this, my job is to ruin it.”

At the 2019 Masters, Woods ended an 11-year wait for a 15th major as he produced one of the greatest comebacks in sporting history.

He then placed 21st at the following US Open, but has struggled in the five years that have followed.

Woods has failed to finish in the top 40 at a major since his 37th place at the 2020 PGA Championship, a run hampered by a car crash in 2021 which saw him sustain serious leg injuries.
