One California family added Tom Brady into the mix this holiday season.
The family of 49ers practice squad tight end Jake Tonges ordered photos at CVS only to instead find photos of fellow Golden Stater Tom Brady and his family inside the collection.
Katie Tonges posted the photos and timeline on her TikTok account Sunday with the caption: “WE can do a trade if you have our photo…??#foryou #fyp #tombrady.”
The first photo showcased the photo that her mother intended to receive from CVS: a picture of Jake, Katie and two others, with Katie and another wearing 49ers gear.
Brady, ironically, grew up a 49ers fan.
The second slide showed that the mother instead received a photo of Brady and his three children – Jack, Benjamin and Vivian – at Gillette Stadium earlier this year from when Brady returned to New England before the Patriots’ season opener against the Eagles.
The clip then showcased a text message – seemingly from Katie’s father – stating: “Mom sent in a picture of you kids to CVS to give grandma for Christmas. We just received them today and instead of you guys we get Tom Brady and his kids 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣??????”
Jake’s profile from his college days at California says his parents are Tim and Alexa.
Brady hopped in the comments section to provide some context.
“My mom must have been printing some photos out in San Francisco 😅,” Brady posted.
The user responded: “Next time you’re in town we can do a photo swap!”
The whole situation made for a hilarious back and forth before the holiday season truly intensifies, although the Tonges family may be short the photos it needs.
The photo of Brady and his family was featured as the lead image in an Instagram carousel from Sept. 11 for his return to Foxborough.
“I’ve talked a lot about how lucky I feel to have spent my life surrounded by such incredible people. Yesterday was just another reminder of that,” Brady wrote. “Coming back to New England to celebrate what WE accomplished was so special, and it’s a day that I’ll never forget. Being able to spend time with teammates, family, friends, coaches, and most importantly all the fans of Patriot nation is something that I’ll never take for granted.
“We won a whole lot of games up here… and believe it or not we had a whole lot of fun doing it. I’m so lucky to have been a New England Patriot. Foxboro Forever.”
Brady actually spent time with his mother, Galynn, and his father, Tom Sr., in Las Vegas this past Wednesday at an opening night party at Fontainebleau Las Vegas.
The seven-time Super Bowl champion was most recently linked to supermodel Irina Shayk.
Jake, meanwhile, went undrafted and joined the 49ers this past summer.
