LONDON (AP) — Tottenham staged an impressive comeback against Crystal Palace in the English Premier League on Saturday, scoring three goals in 11 second-half minutes to secure a 3-1 victory.
Crystal Palace took the lead when Eberechi Eze scored in the 59th minute, but Tottenham fought back with a brilliant assist from substitute Brennan Johnson setting up Timo Werner for the equalizer in the 77th minute. Cristian Romero then scored the go-ahead goal shortly after.
Captain Son Heung-min sealed the win with a goal in the 88th minute, securing fifth place for Tottenham. This position could potentially lead to a Champions League qualification spot for the next season.
Tottenham, playing against a rejuvenated Palace side under new manager Oliver Glasner, dominated possession in the first half but struggled to create clear chances. However, their improved tempo in the second half led to a flurry of attacking opportunities.
Despite an early scare with Eze’s goal for Palace, Tottenham maintained their composure and eventually secured the win with a strong second-half performance.
