Sports folk and dignitaries came together on Saturday to celebrate the opening of Cottesloe’s Anderson Pavilion at Harvey Field.
The pavilion has four changerooms, umpire facilities, public toilets, an enclosed spectator area, a kitchen/kiosk and a storage room — all helpful additions for key tenants such as Cottesloe Rugby Union Football Club, Cottesloe Roosters Football Club and the Cottesloe Magpies Junior Football Club.
It has been several years in the works and the project got a kick along when the Town of Cottesloe secured a $400,000 grant from the State Government’s community sporting and recreation facility fund.
“The new facility is a great outcome for all users of Harvey Field and I would like to thank the sporting clubs for their feedback and support throughout the project,” Cottesloe mayor Lorraine Young said.
“The new Anderson Pavilion is a fabulous facility that will meet their needs today, as well as the needs of future generations.”
