While mug shots serve to identify individuals and document their physical condition at the time of arrest, there are already numerous photos of Trump available. Despite complaints and objections, if Trump’s mug shot is released, he is likely to use it as a badge of honor and a symbol of victimhood. In fact, there are already fundraising websites selling merchandise adorned with a fake Trump mug shot. Although an actual mug shot of Trump may not meet expectations set by fake ones, it is certain that if released, it will capture widespread attention. The outcome of the photo, whether smiling or scowling, will likely be manipulated and scrutinized, but the Trump campaign may not be bothered by this as they can always turn to Photoshop.
