TS Galaxy visit D’General in the Nedbank Cup on Sunday. The homework was not so easy for coach Sead Ramovic.
NEDBANK CUP: D’GENERAL VS TS GALAXY
Playing in the ABC Motsepe League means it is not simple for opponents to study a team. DStv Premiership side TS Galaxy had to go the extra mile.
Speaking to the media before the Nedbank Cup final 16 game, coach Ramovic revealed he drove four hours to watch the Botshabelo-based side in Bloemfontein.
“I know we have a team in front of us that looks on the paper that it should be easy but we know that it will be not easy, it’s always a tricky one. That’s why we went and watched two games live from them,” Ramovic said via SABC Sport.
“So, we drove around four hours to go there and to watch them. So, we have some information that we will of course analyse and see what game plan we will have. Our goal is to go into the next round and I think without any doubt we have this kind of plan – we should be confident that we can go there and win the game. It’s a must for us,” the TS Galaxy mentor added.
“Just one thing we didn’t watch some of the clips, we went there and we watched the game live. When they played against the team that was on the second last place, so, it meant that they fought to go up and the team that was fighting to stay in the league. So, we went there live to watch those games.
“So, it’s not just analysing the video because we are a professional team, so we went there to watch the game live to see how they play because we believe that they will not play something else because they’re playing to go into a higher league [get promoted to the Motsepe Foundation Championship]. So, I’m sure they will play the best they can. So, that’s what we analyse, we put a team on the field that we believe that we can [use to] win the game,” the TS Galaxy tactician concluded.
The game is set for 15:00 from the Free State Stadium.
TWO MORE PLACES
Meanwhile, six teams have advanced to the Nedbank Cup quarterfinals: AmaTuks, AmaZulu, Stellenbosch FC, SuperSport United, Chippa United and Orlando Pirates.
On Sunday, the final two spots will be taken by one of TS Galaxy, D’General, Mamelodi Sundowns or Maritzburg United.
