Tua Tagovailoa’s got jokes.
The Miami Dolphins quarterback was busting his teammate, wide receiver Braxton Berrios, and brought up his girlfriend, influencer Alix Earle, who was featured in the latest installment of HBO’s “Hard Knocks,” which currently follows the Dolphins in the 2023-24 NFL season.
“What does he bring to the team? TikTok and um — shoot, sorry, that’s his girlfriend,” Tagovailoa said.
That’s when a video of Earle plucking Berrios’ eyebrows played from Dec. 4, when she initially posted it on TikTok.
Berrios explained why he doesn’t mind Earle’s busy schedule as a social media star.
“Obviously it’s hectic for her at times and it’s awesome to see how busy she is and how much she does and just be a part of it whenever I can,” Berrios said while the couple decorated a Christmas tree at his home in Miami.
Earle made $5 million in her senior year at the University of Miami while balancing school and her career, according to Forbes, which selected her for its 30 Under 30 list.
The New Jersey native, who confirmed they were a couple last month, explained how the “NFL man” nickname she gave Berrios has stuck with her six million followers on TikTok.
“I didn’t want to out his name [in the beginning of their relationship], so I was like, I guess I’ll make up a nickname, and we had talked about it before,” the 23-year-old said.
“Not one was NFL Man’ for the record,” Berrios quipped. “NFL man was never discussed.”
“NFL man just spawned in the moment, then it stuck,” she said. “We’re out all the time… and I go places and girls are cheering, ‘NFL man!’”
The couple shared a laugh when Berrios said, “You picked a good one, obviously.”
Earle previously revealed she was filming for “Hard Knocks” in one of her famous “get ready with me” videos last Friday.
“Big Al & NFL man on camera,” she wrote in her caption at the time.
Earle confirmed Berrios is her boyfriend during an appearance on the Unwell tour with “Call Her Daddy” host, Alex Cooper on Nov. 12.
They were first linked shortly after Berrios split from model Sophia Culpo earlier this year.
Earle, who graduated with a degree in marketing in the spring, is a staple at Dolphins games — if she’s not traveling for work, according to her social media.
Miami has a two-game cushion over the Bills in the AFC East playoff race.
The Dolphins (10-4) host the Dallas Cowboys (10-4) on Dec. 24.
Both teams are at the top of their respective conference.
