TWO British Airways cabin crew were sacked yesterday for mocking Asian passengers in a video.
Holly Walton was filmed apparently making slant-eyed gestures and using a Chinese accent to say: “Give me wine.”
She recorded the footage with colleague Lauren Bray before it was widely shared on TikTok, prompting an outcry from other BA staff.
The pair have now been hauled before the airline’s bosses and given their marching orders.
A BA crew member told The Sun: “This recording is obscene. For anyone to have such racist thoughts, to then film them and share it with the world, is shocking and dumb in equal measure.
“This is hugely damaging for the airline and they deserved the axe.”
The video was shot between flights while the pair enjoyed drinks on a night out at the luxury Trade Winds hotel in Antigua. They had earlier served passengers on flight BA2157 from Gatwick.
Colleagues said they were mimicking a Chinese family who spoke little English and struggled to be understood when ordering drinks on the busy holiday flight.
One Asia-born BA worker told The Sun: “I’m reeling from seeing this video. It makes me question the airline and my colleagues.
“Action has to be taken. We won’t stand for it.”
Another said: “These two women were deliberately laughing at a family who struggled to make themselves understood on a busy flight. This sends out the worst message possible.
“BA cannot employ anyone with a scintilla of racism. The stupidity of this duo really beggars belief.”
Airline bosses were forced to act as soon as they were alerted to the recording.
Ms Walton, who was in Cancun, Mexico, in the middle of another BA round trip, was ordered to fly home as a passenger to face a grilling.
On Monday, Ms Bray was seen leaving a meeting at the airline’s HQ in floods of tears.
The pair have shared dozens of photos of themselves in BA uniform in far-flung destinations throughout their careers.
BA managers are furious about the latest incident — having written letters to crew members only last year to warn them about their social media posts.
BA’S WARNING
The edict came after passengers on a flight to Kingston, Jamaica, complained that they had overheard staff mocking their accents.
BA sources told The Sun that the pair had been sacked.
An airline spokesperson said: “All forms of racism are completely unacceptable, and we take allegations of this nature very seriously.
“These two individuals are no longer employed by us.”
