CHENNAI: LeapScholar has announced two new hybrid master’s degree programmes in partnership with Michigan Technological University (MTU), a top STEM college and public research university in the US.
With this collaboration, LeapScholar brings the College of Engineering’s prominent MS in Mechanical Engineering and the College of Computing’s highly regarded MS in health informatics to Indian students aspiring to earn a degree from the US in a hybrid format at an affordable cost.
A portion of the courses’ curriculum will be delivered to students online in India, and the rest will be on campus in Houghton, Michigan. This hybrid format will effectively reduce the total cost of the program by almost Rs 8 lakh.
The requirement for GRE scores has been waived as part of the eligibility criteria for the programme.
With a STEM degree, students will qualify for a three-year post-study work visa upon graduation, similar to full-time international students.
Michigan Technological University has a strong reputation for graduating highly skilled professionals who secure rewarding employment opportunities.
MTU students have a 93% job placement rate after graduation and can earn an average starting salary of $71,100 (Rs 5924514.15).
The university has recently been ranked as the 16th best public university in the US by the Wall Street Journal and has secured a position in the top 25 nationally for return on investment, as recognised by Forbes.
