Two playful Swan River dolphins get up close and personal in incredible video taken at South Perth

An incredible video shows a pair of playful dolphins in the Swan River getting up close and personal with passersby in South Perth.

At about 11am on Saturday, two friendly dolphins were seen swimming up and down the river bank on Hurlingham Road in South Perth.

Raj Mahan, who took the video, described the interaction as an incredible moment.

“It was amazing watching how playful they were,” he told PerthNow.

“It was a lot of fun.”

In the video, a group of passersby can be seen huddled together in awe as they watched the pair of dolphins gracefully swim in small circles together.

“Everyone was so amused, it felt like the dolphins wanted to play with us!”

Although one shyer dolphin decided to stay a bit further back from the river bank, its companion didn’t seem to mind stealing the attention of passersby.

“The braver dolphin was swimming up and down the bank quite a bit,” Mr Mahan said.

“It was so close that you could almost touch it, but no one did.”
