WASHINGTON, D.C. — A staffer for U.S. Sen. Ben Cardin, D-Md., was ousted on Saturday after a sex tape was leaked on X.com. The video shows allegedly him and another man having sex in a Senate office building, according to reports.
Cardin’s office released a statement early on Saturday morning, after not commenting about the video itself and the location of where the alleged sexual acts were portrayed.
“Aidan Maese-Czeropski is no longer employed by the U.S. Senate. We will have no further comment on this personnel matter,” the statement from Cardin’s office said.
The video allegedly shows Maese-Czeropski and another man having sexual intercourse in room 216 of the Hart Senate Office Building.
Maese-Czeropski released his own statement on LinkedIn on Saturday, denying that it was him in the video.
“This has been a difficult time for me, as I have been attacked for who I love to pursue a political agenda. While some of my actions in the past have shown poor judgement, (sic) I love my job and would never disrespect my workplace. Any attempts to characterize my actions otherwise are fabricated and I will be exploring what legal options are available to me in these matters,” Maese-Czeropski said.
Hart 216 is the same office where the September 11 Commission hearings took place, according to reports. It’s also the same room where former FBI Director James Comey gave his controversial testimony about conversations he had with then-President Donald J. Trump.
