Uber Eats customers have been warned to beware of scammers using fake offers to trick them into handing over their personal details.
Users have reported receiving WhatsApp messages claiming to be from the food delivery giant that invite them to join a promotional team.
The messages may also offer rewards for liking or bookmarking merchant stores, Uber Eats warned.

“Please be aware that these messages are not sent by Uber Eats,” it said.
“If you receive these messages, we strongly advise you not to engage with it, share personal or financial information, or click on any links.
“Remember, we will never ask you to provide your password.”
The service said it would also never call, text or email to ask for a verification code or personal banking details.
If you receive a message you are unsure about, contact the Uber Eats customer support team through the official app or website.
To help keep accounts secure, create a password unique to Uber Eats and do not share with anyone else.
Uber also recommended, before entering sensitive information such as your password on any website, check that the URL in your address bar shows either https://auth.uber.com or https://login.uber.com.
