UGC NET 2023: Registration for December exam closes today; Apply at ugcnet.nta.nic.in

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will be closing the registration window of the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) December 2023 session, today, October 31.
Eligible candidates can apply for the examination and make payment of the application fee at ugcnet.nta.nic.in, till 11:59PM tonight.
Earlier, the deadline for registration was on October 28, 2023.
According to the notice, the correction window will be opened on November 1 till November 3, 11:59PM.
The city information slip for conducting of exams is expected to be released in the last week of November, followed by the admit card in the first week of December.
The UGC NET December 2023 exam is scheduled to take place from December 6 to December 22, 2023. Shift details will be announced in due course of time at the time of admit card release.
Fee details
The UGC NET December 2023 application fee is Rs. 1,150 for the general/unreserved category. For general-EWS and OBC-NCL categories, the fee is Rs. 600. For SC, ST, PwD, and third gender candidates, the fee is Rs. 325.
Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for the UGC NET December 2023 exam, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Educational qualification: Candidates must have a master’s degree in a relevant subject from a recognized university, with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for reserved categories).
  • Age limit: There is no upper age limit for the UGC NET exam, but candidates who wish to apply for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) must be under the age of 31 years as on December 1, 2023.

To apply for the UGC NET December 2023 session, follow these steps:
Step 1: Visit the official website of the National Testing Agency (NTA) at ugcnet.nta.nic.in.
Step 2: Click on the “Online Registration” link for the UGC NET December 2023 exam.
Step 3: Create a new account or log in to your existing account.
Step 4: Fill in the application form and upload the required documents, such as scanned copies of your educational certificates, identity proof, and passport-size photograph.
Step 5: Pay the application fee using a debit card, credit card, or net banking.
Step 6: After finally submitting, keep a copy of the submitted application
Once the examination phase is concluded, the National Testing Agency (NTA) will release the UGC NET answer key and OMR response sheet. Candidates will be able to challenge the answer key and OMR sheets, if they find any discrepancy.
Candidates who qualify for the UGC NET exam will be eligible to apply for Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) positions in universities and colleges across India.
