UK TikTok star Big John arrives in Perth ahead of Perth Racing event at Ascot, eats Chinese in bizarre place

Viral TikTok star Big John has celebrated his arrival in Perth by eating his favourite meal of Chinese food in a bizarre and “surreal” place.

‘Big John’ Fisher, known for his bosh catchphrase and videos taste-testing various Chinese takeaways, enjoyed a blind tasting of Chinese food at Ascot Racecourse horse stables ahead of his Perth Racing event this Saturday.

“I just did a blind test with the workers at the racecourse, they sent me some Chinese dishes. It was quite easy because I knew what the dishes tasted like, but it was delicious,” Big John told PerthNow.

He added: “It was my first experience having Chinese in Australia doing a blind test in a stable with horses, it was surreal.”

When asked what Chinese restaurants he will visit while in Perth, the UK content creator said he has received lots of recommendations and will be sure to visit one while he is here.

The British dad — who boasts more than 870k TikTok and Instagram followers — is hosting The BOSH Raves Day party on Saturday with Aussie fans set to enjoy Big John on the DJ decks.

Partygoers can expect to dance to some “old bangers” and will get their chance to meet the man himself.

“If you’ve bought a ticket for this weekend you can expect that obviously, the races are brilliant, you get to meet me, you get to have videos and photos and also listen to my DJ set which is actually just me pressing buttons and getting everybody going for half an hour,” Big John said.

“I’ll be playing old bangers. You can’t stand still during it. It will be more of a workout than anything else,” he laughed.

The UK star is the father of professional boxer Johnny Fisher, nicknamed the Romford Bull, who is accompanying him on his tour Down Under.

Big John has already received an overwhelmingly positive reception from his Aussie fans, also known as his Bosh Army, leaving him “totally shocked” and “truly humbled”.

“I’ve just met so many good people in Australia, it’s been great. It has truly been humbling to be here, to be honest.”

He said that Newcastle, Sydney and Canberra were “absolutely manic” and Perth so far had been a little bit more laid back.

“Perth has been a little bit more laid back but it’s a lot more spread out, but obviously we still had a lot of people coming up for photos and videos and we’re really looking forward to seeing everybody on Saturday.”

Big John has only been in Perth for one day but has already explored WA’s iconic beaches including South Beach in Fremantle and Scarborough Beach.

He said he will hopefully be making a stop to Rottnest Island following multiple recommendations and a return to the West Coast in April.

The UK star said this whole experience has been “truly mind-boggling”.

“I still pinch myself, I still can’t believe I’m here, to be honest with you.”

Big John’s Perth event on Saturday 16 March in collaboration with UK company Invades will have a designated party area for students, sporting enthusiasts and Bosh soldiers.

Perth Racing CEO James Oldring says the collaboration with Invades is exciting for the Club and he looks forward to welcoming Big John.

“We are continually pushing the envelope to provide novel event experiences for racegoers of all ages. To host Invades and Big John on their first visit to Perth will be a perfect fit on what is typically our great fun raceday in celebration of St Patrick’s. Bosh!”
