LUCKNOW: As the cold conditions continue, the district administration on Monday revised timings for all private and government schools in the city. As per the revised timings, classes will now be held from 10 am to 3 pm and these timings will continue till January 27.
While the administration did not extend the closure of schools, that have remained shut for nearly a month now, it advised them to hold online classes for students up to class 12.The schools, that do not have adequate capacity to conduct online classes or insist on holding physical classes, have been directed to revise their school timings. As per the revised timings, schools can now conduct classes from 10 am to 3 pm.
The schools opting for in-person sessions for senior sections, the administration has issued guidelines, mandating the provision of room heaters. to counter the detrimental impact of cold wave on students. Directives were also issued not to hold classes, practicals and exams in the open.
District magistrate Suryapal Gangwar said there would be no compulsion on students to follow the school uniform code. Students are free to wear warm clothes that shield them from cold wave.
According to IMD, the minimum temperature in Lucknow on Monday hovered around 7 degrees Celsius and the mercury levels are predicted to further plummet.
