UPSC Civil Services Prelims 2024: The Union Public Service Commission(UPSC) will conduct the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination tomorrow, June 16, 2024(Sunday). To facilitate candidates appearing for the UPSC civil services (prelims) examination, rides on the Noida-Greater Noida Metro and the Delhi metro will commence from 6 am on Sunday. The prestigious examination on June 16 begins at 9 am (forenoon session) and 2 pm (afternoon session) with entry to the venue closing 30 minutes before the commencement of the test, according to the UPSC website. With the UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE) just around the corner, here are some last-minute preparation tips to help you make the most of the time you have left and maximize your performance on the exam day:

(01) / Paper – I – (01) 09:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M.
(02) / Paper – I – (02) 02:30 P.M. to 04:30 P.M

  1. Taking mock tests and acing previous year’s papers could give you a clear view of the exam pattern and highlight the areas you need to work more on. Regular introspection of your mock test performances can influence the fine-tuning of your exam strategy.
  2. Use your handwritten notes for quick revisions. They are usually concise and contain personalized information that can be remembered easily.
  3. Concentrate on revisiting key principles, formulas, and important timelines. Now’s not the time to start anything new – it might lead to confusion. Keep cool and self-assured during revisions for better recall.
  4. Don’t forget to sleep well, eat healthy, and stay hydrated, to keep up your concentration levels during the exam. Sidestep last-minute cramming and put your health first for peak performance.
  5. Go through the summaries and important points from NCERT textbooks.
  6. Carefully read the instructions on the question paper and make sure you understand them before starting.
  7. Candidate should not be in possession of or using any mobile phone (even in switched off mode), pager or any electronic equipment or programmable device or storage media like pen drive, smart watches, etc., or camera or Bluetooth devices or any other equipment or related accessories either in working or switched off mode capable of being used as a communication device during the examination. Any infringement of these instructions shall entail disciplinary action including ban from future Examinations.
  8. Use of normal or simple wrist watches by candidates is allowed inside the Examination Rooms/ Halls. However, use of watches fitted with any special accessory that might be used as communication device or smart watches is strictly prohibited and candidates are not allowed to take such watches into the Examination Rooms/ Halls.

UPSC IAS Prelims 2024 – Exam day guidelines(reporting time)

  1. Entry into the Examination Venue shall be closed 30 minutes before the schedule commencement of the
    Examination i.e. 09:00 AM for the Forenoon Session and 02:00 PM for the Afternoon Session. No candidate shall be allowed the entry into the Examination Venue after closure of the entry.
  2. Candidates are advised to enter the Examination Venue well in time for frisking.

No candidate will ordinarily be allowed to take the examination unless he/she holds an e-Admit Card for the examination. The UPSC CSE Prelims E-Admit Card 2023 will be available to download on the official website — upsc.gov.in. A candidate, whose photograph on his/her e-Admit Card is not clear or the photograph is without his/her name and date of photograph, will have to bring a photo identity card alongwith two passport size photographs (with his/her name and date of photograph), one for each session for appearing in the Examination with an undertaking.
