According to the notice the Union Public Service Commission will be conducting the Engineering Services Preliminary exam on February 18, 2024, across different centres in the country.
The e-Admit cards will be released shortly on the official website of UPSC at upsconline.nic.in. According to the notice, candidates will not receive a physical paper admit card for this examination. It is important for candidates to carefully read the “Important Instructions to the Candidates” attached with the e-Admit Card.
Candidates must ensure to bring a printed copy of their e-Admit Card to the designated venue for the examination. Failure to produce the e-Admit Card at the allotted venue will result in the candidate being denied entry to the examination. Additionally, candidates must carry a photo ID card, the number of which is specified in the e-Admit Card, for each session of the examination.
If there are any discrepancies found in the e-Admit Card, candidates are advised to promptly communicate this to the Commission via email at [email protected]. The Commission will then take necessary action to address the issue.
Candidates must also be aware that they are only permitted to appear at the examination venue mentioned in their e-Admit Card. No candidate will be allowed entry to any other examination venue.

No candidates will be allowed entry into the examination venue once the entry is closed.
Further the notice states that candidates are prohibited from bringing valuables such as mobile phones, smart/digital watches, other IT gadgets, books, bags, etc., into the examination premises. It is advised that candidates do not bring any banned items as Venue Supervisors will not provide arrangements for storing these items. If a candidate brings any banned items, they must make their own arrangements for storing them outside the venue, and the Commission will not be responsible for any loss incurred. Additionally, candidates are only permitted to bring their e-Admit Card, pen, pencil, identity proof, photographs, and any other items specified in the instructions of the e-Admit Card to the venue. No other items will be allowed inside the venue.
Possession or use of mobile phones (even in switched-off mode) and other electronic/communication devices, or any other incriminating material (such as notes on e-Admit Cards, papers, erasers, etc.), or violation of any instructions will result in disciplinary action. This may include cancellation of the candidate’s candidature, filing of FIR/police complaint against the candidate, prohibition from appearing in subsequent sessions of the examination, and any other appropriate action as per the provisions contained in the Examination Rules. Candidates are also advised to bring a black ballpoint pen to the examination hall for taking the examination.
