The first three days of the UPSC Mains Examination 2023 witnessed five papers, including Essay, General Studies – I, General Studies – II, General Studies – III, and General Studies – IV. The UPSC Prelims 2023 may have shocked the candidates with its difficulty level but the Commission seems to be giving a breather in the CSE Mains Examination 2023.
“Post CSAT 2023 disaster, UPSC may have decided to keep the paper simple. Most of the questions are doable except for a few like Purviya – Monsoon and Fjord. I’m not saying it’s easy. But, if you have covered the basic books and practiced properly then the paper is doable,” writes Dr. Gaurav J. Sontake, UPSC CSE Mentor on X (formerly Twitter).
Another UPSC Mentor, Vinay Kumar G B found the Mains GS – 1 paper quite relevant and interesting. “UPSC Civil Services mains GS-1 question paper. Interesting and relevant questions asked under Indian Society – about changing nature of marriages, the impact of phones on relationships, suicides among women, caste identity, communalism and features of Vaidic society & religion,” he writes on X.
Dr. Gaurav J. Sontake found the GS3 question paper balanced on static and current affairs. He further suggests that a few questions were repeated from the previous years.
