Valentino unveils new Madison Avenue flagship boutique

Luxury fashion brand Valentino is set to open on Wednesday a new flagship boutique on Madison Avenue in New York, featuring a retail concept first introduced in 2022. 

Spanning three levels and nearly 1,142-square-meters of retail space, each floor is centered around a distinct visual narrative, driven by carefully selected colors and materials. Most notably, the color red, an iconic shade for the brand, is prominently featured.

Upon entry, customers are greeted by grand double-doors with sculptural marble handles, inspired by the works of artisans whose creations appear in Valentino stores worldwide.

The main floor is divided into various functions with custom elements, including a prominent green onyx display at the center. At the rear, various interpretations of the iconic Rosso Valentino come into focus. To the right, a dedicated area for shoes features red travertine floors and seating contrasting with illuminated onyx and concrete shelving. On the left, a space dedicated to the Ready-to-Wear collection is separated from the main store by concrete shelving. 

On the second floor, presentations of the Valentino Women’s Ready-to-Wear collection are defined by a giant lacquered red wardrobe structure and matching seating, contrasting with a checkerboard floor.

Here, customers can also experience Valentino’s unique customer journey, inspired by Italian hospitality, with two VIP spaces whose ivory environment references the Maison’s workshops. Each includes a lounge and a separate fitting room.

Down the stairs, a different color narrative is found, leading to a dedicated space for the Valentino Men’s Collections. Adjacent to it, a warmer environment is created with a lilac floor, mirrored columns, custom glass displays, and angular green onyx shelves. 

Lastly, the mezzanine, facing the boutique’s ground floor, will be dedicated to temporary art exhibitions to amplify the work of a diverse range of galleries and institutions. The space opens in partnership with the New York Museum Magazzino Italian Art, presenting the paintings of Mario Schifano.
