A controversial vegan activist has been removed by security and served with a permanent ban from one of Perth’s most popular hotels only hours after checking in with her boyfriend.
Tash Peterson is a well-known vegan activist based in Perth who has performed many controversial acts while promoting her cause.
On Saturday, Ms Peterson was removed from Perth’s Crown Towers and served with a permanent ban.
The removal was not a result of a protest or activist incident but instead because Ms Peterson had previously been banned from the hotel.
In a TikTok video, she said, “So we just arrived at the Crown Towers Hotel, and they’ve come knocking on the door to say that I’ve been permanently banned from Crown since September 2021.”
“They are only just serving it on me now, three years later. I’m permanently banned.”
Ms Peterson claims she and her partner, Jack Higgs, are being kicked out for “doing nothing”.
The pair had checked into the hotel for two nights and were there for Mr Higgs’ birthday.
The 30-year-old vegan activist said she doesn’t remember the last time she went to Crown to go out and claims it must have been when she was only 18 years old.
“[I] didn’t do anything wrong, no incidents whatsoever when I came here.”
The vegan activist paired the TikTok video with the caption, “Kicked out of Crown Towers! See WATCHDOMINION.ORG for the truth. Non-human animals deserve rights. If you’re not vegan, you abuse animals”.
She has previously had confrontations with Perth-based restaurant owner John Mountain and has been prohibited from leaving WA without permission from the Community Corrections Centre for six months as a result of the court case linked to the protest at Mr Mountain’s restaurant.
Crown has been contacted for comment.
