Tuesday sees Vestiaire Collective, one of the world’s largest resale platforms, linking up with some who was an influencer before that term was even coined — Carine Roitfeld.

The former editor-in-chief of Vogue Paris now helms her own magazine CR Fashion Book and works as a consultant for luxury houses such as Givenchy.
The company said the new collab “celebrates Roitfeld’s expert eye for vintage fashion, offering customers the opportunity to shop curated vintage pieces, handpicked by the style icon herself”.
The link-up includes a current digital takeover with Roitfeld on Vestiaire Collective’s social media handles, a behind-the-scenes look at a show during the Paris Fashion Week, and an edit of 300 vintage pieces chosen by her, available exclusively on the company’s webstore.
It follows the launch of the site’s Archive Room, an ongoing campaign highlighting “iconic, era-defining fashion pieces from the past”.
She “has opened the doors to her personal closet in her Parisian apartment, sharing her distinctive style” with the resale specialist’s community. The offer goes from “rare couture to timeless classics with a punk twist” and reflects her “unique taste and enduring appreciation for vintage fashion”.

Roitfeld said of this: “You will be surprised to discover that I have a rather small closet… I keep only my favourite pieces that I still wear to this day. Today, I am wearing a pair of denim jeans that are 50 years old. Almost everything I own is vintage… they tell stories and represent the evolution of my style.”
She also said she “no longer follows trends or changes outfits between shows. She sticks to her signature style and often wears vintage items to the shows, as she doesn’t feel pressured to showcase the latest collections”.
The collab offer features “an eclectic mix of apparel, accessories, and statement pieces spanning decades of fashion history”.
