VIRGIN Media customers may notice some slight differences on their TV after a recent upgrade.
However, the changes are only coming to two types of Virgin Media boxes.
While the updates are pretty minor compared to the last one in January, they should make it slightly easier to find your favourite channels and shows.
There’s also a little tweak to the remote that solves an annoying problem some viewers encountered too.
The latest version is only available on Virgin 360 and Virgin Stream boxes at the moment.
Here’s a full rundown of what’s new.
TV Guide tips
If you need help navigating around the TV Guide page there’s a new trick to get you started.
While on the TV Guide section, use the remote’s voice feature and ask for “Help” and on screen tips will appear, so you can get around channels and content much faster.
Regional channels
Finding regional channels should be a bit easier from now on.
These will be displayed in content folders if they are available in your location.
Home screen
The home screen will show extra perks you may have missed from across Virgin Media O2 in a new reel.
For example, it may show freebies from the O2 Priority app.
No more “Flo” keyboard
Virgin Media has removed some features too, presumably due to lack of use.
One such tool going is the Flo keyboard, which allowed you to highlight three letters at a time before selecting your chosen letter.
Of course, the traditional keyboard stays in place.
Remote control unpair button
Pressing and holding the Live TV and 0 button together for a few seconds unpair some remotes from your Virgin box.
Well not anymore – as you may have discovered, this could be accidentally activated causing unnecessary problems.
So Virgin Media has removed the feature.
