Vivienne Westwood SS24 campaign stars Naomi Campbell, Penelope Tree

Vivienne Westwood has unveiled its SS24 campaign, alongside Andreas Kronthaler’s private survey of the late Dame Vivienne’s personal wardrobe from the last four decades – where we’re told “silhouettes are lovingly revisited, remade”.

The campaign stars Naomi Campbell, along with 74-year-old 1960s supermodel Penelope Tree, plus Xavier Morales, Lux Gillespie, Vincent Rockins and Kronthaler himself.

Along with the models, there’s a still-life element courtesy of the unusual location, the Proportion London mannequin factory.

Kronthaler said the company had wanted to include still-life from the start: “It seemed the best way to show off Vivienne’s reimagined wardrobe. Display dummies came to mind, and we checked out factories where they are made. We found one of the last remaining in England in the far east of London, we put together a cast and went there to shoot the new campaign. 

“The people in the factory were very welcoming and we could shoot in all their working places. It was very interesting and great to see how everything is made. We had a great day and such a pleasure to spend it with our cast as always.”

The looks were styled by Sabina Schreder with Juergen Teller the photographer and Dovile Drizyte the “creative partner”.
