VISAKHAPATNAM: Dr Lankapalli Bullayya College of Engineering, Visakhapatnam entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with L&T EduTech on Monday. The MoU will facilitate the launch of the college connect programme for first- and second-year engineering students and employability skilling programme for final year and pre-final year students.
These initiatives are designed to bridge the gap between industry and academia by equipping students with the necessary technical and soft skills required in their respective engineering disciplines.
L&T EduTech College Connect business head MF Febin, L&T EduTech regional manager Mayank Ranjan, Bullayya College secretary and correspondent Dr G Madhu Kumar, engineering college principal Prof Deepak Chowdary, and others were present at the MoU signing event.
Speaking at the event, Prof Deepak Chowdary emphasised the importance of industry expertise alongside academic knowledge. “This MOU brings about hand in hand cooperation throughout all semesters for academia and practical learning,” said Prof Deepak. “The advent of AI has brought about several changes, hence focus on core engineering and learning with the industry is crucial for developing student skills and enhancing placements,” he added.
Dr G. Madhu Kumar mentioned that students often lack hands-on experience. “Thus, this MoU serves as a great opportunity for students to broaden their vision and familiarise themselves with the outside world,” said Dr Madhu Kumar.
MF Febin enlightened the students about various opportunities in the field, how this could be a platform for the students to engage and interact with industry experts, gain new skills, and open doors to various career opportunities.
