Vodafone outage causes mobile phone issues across Australia

A Vodafone outage is affecting voice calls for customers across Australia, according to Downdetector.

The telecommunications company has apologised after hundreds of incidents were reported since the early hours of Tuesday.

Customers said they were unable to receive calls or contact other Vodafone customers from their devices.

“Calls going direct to Voicemail,” one customer wrote on X.

“Looks like no one in (Australia) can make or receive calls to and from Vodafone … I can call from my phone to other carriers, just not to my wife or any other (Vodafone) customer (from) my (Vodafone) phone,” another wrote.

“Calls to Vodafone mobiles aren’t working. Aren’t able to dial out or receive,” another wrote. Vodafone responded to the individual tweet by commenting on X that it would “take a look at what’s happening with your calls”.

Vodafone told 7NEWS.com.au: “We are aware some customers are currently experiencing interruptions to voice calls.”

“Our technical teams are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible,” a spokesperson said.

“We apologise for the inconvenience.

“Other mobile services, including text messages, data services and Triple Zero calls, continue to work as normal.”

The Downdetector map shows that most issues with Vodafone services in the last 24 hours have been reported in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra and southeast Queensland.
