On a starry night in the 16th arrondissement, Vogue100 transformed the set of Miss Sohee’s spring 2024 show into an intimate gathering. Just a few hours after Sohee Park’s first debut in the City of Light, the designer invited friends and fashion folk to toast the monumental moment with a dinner at the Shangri-La Paris.
A striking marble staircase dressed in white roses and delphiniums led guests upstairs to enjoy a decadent cocktail surrounded by a few of Park’s favorite looks. Mood boards pinned with fabric swatches and sketches were carefully displayed beside the gowns. It was a chance for admirers to appreciate the full story of each piece.
“I’ve always found beauty in old, neglected objects. They speak to me on a deeply personal level,” Park explained. “The idea of collecting beautiful antiques, with rich and meaningful stories woven into their very essence, allowed me to breathe life into them.”
As guests arrived dressed in signature Miss Sohee looks, glasses of champagne and French canapés floated about the room. In true couple form, Nigerian actress Temi Otedola and her singer-songwriter fiancé, Mr. Eazi, sported effortlessly chic black ensembles.
At 8 PM, two large doors opened to unveil the extravagant dinner scene. The tablescape was curated with a centerpiece of elegant one-bud arrangements designed by McQueens Florals and vintage brass candelabras. The menu featured classic French fare, including a winter vegetable tart with black truffle, followed by a buttery sea bass filet, and a vanilla mille-feuille for dessert.
Eager to catch up with old friends in the new year, guests played a game of musical chairs rotating throughout the tables. Founder of Glimpse Guides Jordan Rhodes gabbed with philanthropist Amanda Polk while stylist Aimée Parfitt and Vogue’s Michael Philouze swapped fashion week schedules. Nearby, models Ikram Abdi and Chanel Ayan chatted about their favorite haute couture collection with stylist Sian Gabari.
In the 19th-century Maison, which once belonged to Roland Bonaparte and was reimagined by contemporary French interior designer Pierre-Yves Rochon, the evening was reminiscent of old-school Parisian glamour but with a modern twist. This transportive atmosphere was reflected in Park’s collection–a stunning fusion of timeless fashion and contemporary style.
