Aussies are well known for spending Christmas in unusual ways, however, this video was something no one thought they’d see.
A jaw-dropping video simply captioned “Only in Australia on Christmas day” went viral on TikTok.
The video shows two mice are living it up, one ‘steering’ a mini jetski and the other being towed as it ‘skis’ on a river somewhere over east.
After they’ve had their fun, a man is seen picking the mice up and swapping them over, holding a remote used to control the jetski.
“Yep, that’s a mouse waterskiing and another ‘steering’ the boat,” the text overlay read.
Just five days after posting, the video boasted 327.5k views and 21.3k likes as intrigued viewers watched.
The comments were flooded with amused and slightly confused viewers.
One wrote: “I thought I’d seen everything.”
Many compared the unusual sight to the beloved movie Stuart Little.
Others were concerned for the welfare of the mice
One questioned the logistics of mice in a river: “But what if a fish just….you know”
Another wrote: “I feel bad for them”
However, someone fired back: “They’re having a better Christmas than 98% of the population”
One commenter asked the real questions: “Better question is where did you get a RC Jetski.”
Another suggested the man had taken his mice for a ride more than once for various sporting activities, in a sight many would pay to see: “Haha I’ve seen this guy a few times in Ballina. He teaches them to surf as well on tiny little surfboards.”
A video posted in January by Marc’s Bay Watch showed just that, captioned: “Only in Byron, conditions are so good everyone is learning to surf!”
