AmaZulu head coach Pablo Franco Martin has opened up on his side’s victory over Kaizer Chiefs in the Carling Knockout Cup round of 16.
The Glamour Boys crashed out of the Carling Knockout Cup after going down 1-0 against AmaZulu.
It took a late Taariq Fielies strike from range to seperate matters but Franco has admitted that his side were ‘lucky’ to beat the Amakhosi on the night.

We were a bit lucky against Kaizer Chiefs – Martin
“It was a nice game for all the fans to watch. I think you guys [Kaizer Chiefs] really played very well,” said Martin said as quoted by FarPost.
“Well, you could see that both teams from the very beginning wanted to qualify for the next round. But this time we were a little bit lucky.
“I think from my side I have to congratulate AmaZulu and my players for what they have done since the beginning of the season despite the difficulties.”

“I think we started this season with so much pressure, especially coming from the previous seasons, not only from last season.” Kaizer Chiefs head coach Molefi Ntseki said as quoted by Sowetan ahead of Saturday’s fixture against AmaZulu.
“Yes, the pressure comes from yesterday, not necessarily today. But that’s because of the history of the club, the background of the club.
“But when you take this position, you have to know that there’ll be pressure and I welcome that.”
