Whale carcass sparks shark warning at Warren Beach near Windy Harbour in Manjimup

Beachgoers have been told to watch out for sharks at a popular beach in the State’s south west.

A whale carcass at Warren Beach near Windy Harbour in Manjimup has sparked the warning.

“It is possible the carcass will act as an attractant that could lead to sharks coming close to shore along this stretch of coast,” the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development said in a statement.

“While it’s not uncommon for sharks to be present off the Western Australian coast throughout the year, people should exercise additional caution.”
