The 2024 Grammys are shaping up to be a ladies’ night.
Recording Academy darling Billie Eilish, who already has seven Gramophones at home at just 22 years old, has been sweeping this year’s awards season with “What Was I Made For?” — and Page Six predicts Sunday will be no different.
The tormented ballad from the “Barbie” soundtrack is nominated for five Grammys, including two of the prestigious Big Four categories, record of the year and song of the year, both of which Eilish should have in the bag.
Twelve-time winner Taylor Swift also could have a big evening, with coveted nods for ROTY and SOTY (both for “Anti-Hero”) and album of the year (“Midnights”), the latter of which is surely hers for the taking.
But what about SZA, Victoria Monét, Miley Cyrus, Olivia Rodrigo and other top nominees? Page Six breaks down their odds of walking away winners below.
Record of the year
“Worship” – Jon Batiste
“Not Strong Enough” – Boygenius
“Flowers” – Miley Cyrus
“What Was I Made For?” – Billie Eilish
“On My Mama” – Victoria Monét
“Vampire” – Olivia Rodrigo
“Anti-Hero” – Taylor Swift
“Kill Bill” – SZA
Will win: “What Was I Made For?”
Should win: “Flowers”
Record of the year is a toss-up.
The trophy should go to Cyrus, who finally got her due with six nominations for her “Endless Summer Vacation” era after the academy snubbed her stellar 2020 album, “Plastic Hearts.”
“Flowers” was inescapable the past year — and for good reason: The breakup anthem is a pure earworm.
Swift’s “Anti-Hero” is also a contender, but she’s never had luck in the record category; “You Belong With Me” lost in 2010, as did “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” in 2013, “Shake It Off” in 2015 and “Blank Space” in 2016.
And so, all signs point to Eilish coming out on top with “What Was I Made For?” She’s won ROTY twice before (for “Bad Guy” and “Everything I Wanted” in 2020 and 2021, respectively), and with her “Barbie” hit on track to secure an Oscar, there’s no stopping her at the Grammys either.
Album of the year
“World Music Radio” – Jon Batiste
“The Record” – Boygenius
“Endless Summer Vacation” – Miley Cyrus
“Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd” – Lana Del Rey
“The Age of Pleasure” – Janelle Monáe
“Guts” – Olivia Rodrigo
“Midnights” – Taylor Swift
“SOS” – SZA
Will win: “Midnights”
Should win: “SOS”
Album of the year is always a wildcard.
While the ever-unpredictable academy could shock viewers once again by bestowing the honor upon Batiste for the second time in three years, we suspect it’ll go to either Swift or SZA.
“Midnights” is the clear front-runner, as no one had a bigger year than Swift, who is already a three-time AOTY winner.
Swift’s ongoing Eras Tour is now one of the most lucrative concert runs of all time — and each night ends with a selection of songs from her 2022 album, so any Grammy voters who attended (and odds are high that many of them did) surely left the stadium with “Anti-Hero” or “Karma” stuck in their heads.
But don’t count out “SOS” just yet. SZA leads this year with nine nominations, a clear indicator of the massive impact her album had. After all, she dropped hit (“Kill Bill”) after hit (“Nobody Gets Me”) after hit (“Snooze”). If the academy does one thing right, it’s giving this timeless body of work its top prize.
Song of the year
“A&W” – Jack Antonoff, Lana Del Rey and Sam Dew (Lana Del Rey)
“Anti-Hero” – Jack Antonoff and Taylor Swift (Taylor Swift)
“Butterfly” – Jon Batiste and Dan Wilson (Jon Batiste)
“Dance the Night” – Caroline Ailin, Dua Lipa, Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt (Dua Lipa)
“Flowers” – Miley Cyrus, Gregory Aldae Hein and Michael Pollack (Miley Cyrus)
“Kill Bill” – Rob Bisel, Carter Lang and Solána Rowe (SZA)
“Vampire” – Daniel Nigro and Olivia Rodrigo (Olivia Rodrigo)
“What Was I Made For?” – Billie Eilish O’Connell and Finneas O’Connell (Billie Eilish)

Should win: “What Was I Made For?”
To snub Eilish and her brother, Finneas, of song of the year would be a grave injustice.
They’re the songwriting duo of their generation, and the latest entry in their catalog is a tearjerker for the ages, one that captivated millions in the final moments of the top-grossing movie of 2023, “Barbie.”
“Anti-Hero,” “Flowers” and “Kill Bill” would be viable candidates any other year, but not when “What Was I Made For?” exists.

Ice Spice
Jelly Roll
Coco Jones
Noah Kahan
Victoria Monét
The War and Treaty
Will win: Victoria Monét
Should win: Noah Kahan
The Grammys haven’t seen a list of best new artists this promising in years.
A strong case could be made for each of the eight nominees, from redheaded rapper Ice Spice to tattooed country star Jelly Roll.
We’re narrowing it down to Kahan, who had a breakout year with his “Stick Season” album and countless collaborations with established musicians, and Monét, who penned many of Ariana Grande’s biggest hits before branching out as an R&B juggernaut with a whopping seven Grammy nods this season. Either is a fine choice, but our bets are on Monét to come out victorious.
