Speaking about fan behaviour, Kaizer Chiefs chairman Kaizer Motaung says the problem of unruly fans is not only for the club but involves the PSL.
Motaung believes there should be mechanisms to address unruly fans as Chiefs remain banned by the PSL.

Angry Amakhosi attacked former coach Molefi Ntseki on three occasions since the start of the DStv Premiership season – forcing the PSL to ban them from home games.
Ntseki came under attack from unruly fans when they lost to TS Galaxy, SuperSport United in the league, and AmaZulu in the Carling Knockout Cup.
The Glamour Boys were then hauled before the PSL Disciplinary Committee (DC) in a space of only three months.

KAIZER ON WHY UNRULY FANS AREN’T CHIEFS PROBLEM ALONE
Responding to SABC Sport, Motaung says people need to understand that football is all about win or lose and has no space for violence.
Resulting from the PSL ban, Chiefs played their league match against Cape Town Spurs behind closed doors at FNB Stadium last week.
“Some of the support systems that we need to get, to get people to understand that this is a soccer game, you either win the game, lose the game or play a draw,” says Motaung.

“So, whatever the result, you must accept because it’s a sporting event. So, we need to really strengthen those elements of the game.
“Unfortunately, also at a league level, I don’t think we’re dealing with the matter properly because it’s easy for the league to put a DC [Disciplinary Committee] together and fine and have a lockout game.
“But it affects the image of the league as well because the league sponsors do not want to see us play in those empty stadiums. It’s not in the interest of football.”

UNRULY FANS MUST BE A SOCCER PROBLEM NOT FOR AMAKHOSI
In addition, the longest-serving PSL Executive Committee member believes the issues can’t be solved if Chiefs are held liable alone.
“And also, there are innocent people who also suffer as a result of not going to the game because of what happened last week,” adds Motaung.

“So, at a league level too I think we need to come up with a better mechanism to deal with this issue because it cannot only be seen as a Chiefs problem.
“People mustn’t think because Chiefs has support all over the country, these things should be accepted.
