Will Nabi’s Chiefs move be delayed if AS FAR make the final?

Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly got their man in Nasreddine Nabi, ahead of the 2024/25 season if reports are accurate.

After months of speculation, it is believed that Nabi is the candidate that Chiefs eventually settled on going forward.

Nabi set to join Chiefs

Nabi is expected to arrive with his own technical staff, an agreement granted by the Chiefs management. Last season, it was widely publicised that the two parties could not agree to that aspect of the deal. It then ultimately led to talks collapsing, even though the salary was allegedly already agreed. They have since learnt from the past and the Tunisian is set to bring six members with him to Naturena.

This publication reported earlier today that the coach is set to arrive to his assistant coach Fernando Da Cruz. The Frenchman is expected to arrive at Chiefs and lay the groundwork for Nabi. This while he finishes the season at AS FAR, who are still to play at least a semifinal of the Throne Cup on the 23rd semifinal.

Now the question would be, if AS FAR make it to the final, will the move taking Nabi to Chiefs be delayed? African football journalist Micky Jnr has confirmed that the move will not be delayed and gave a reason why.

Will the move be delayed if AS FAR make it to the final?

“For those asking; even if AS FAR win their Throne Cup semifinal and progress to the final, Nabi and his staff will still leave (For Chiefs) because it will take sometime for the final to be played since it’s decided by the King in Morocco and there’s no time. Nabi has to leave to South Africa for a new coach to take over.” He posted on his X account.

That will be music to the ears of Chiefs fans. They will want to see their new coach hit the ground running. This publication reported that Amakhosi will leave for Turkey for a preseason camp on 4th July.
