Bafana Bafana captain Ronwen Williams is on the brink breaking Andre Arendse’s record at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals.

In 1996, Arendse kept four clean sheets at the AFCON tournament which was held in South Africa and was won by Bafana Bafana.
And now, Williams is 90 minutes away from achieving that with Bafana Bafana set to take on Cape Verde in the AFCON quarterfinals on Saturday.

Kick-off is at 22:00 SA time.
So far, Williams has kept three clean sheets at the 2023 AFCON tournament, and they were against Namibia, Tunisia and Morocco.

No any other Bafana Bafana goalkeeper – except Williams and Arendse – has kept three clean sheets or more at a single AFCON tournament.
