Winter Vacation: UP schools to remain closed till January 14

NEW DELHI: The Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Council (UPBEC) has announced winter vacation in all institutions in the state. Furthermore, orders have been issued to carefully enforce it across UP schools.
UPBEC has announced a winter break extending until January 14, 2024, applicable to schools from pre-primary to Class 8. The directive, issued by BSA Dinesh Kumar upon receiving government correspondence, is not limited to council-run schools; it is also applicable to aided and recognized schools.
This comprehensive approach ensures that both students and educational institutions across the state strictly adhere to the designated winter break schedule.
District School Inspector Chandra K Singh, in accordance with government directives, has advised the principals of secondary schools where classes up to the 8th are conducted. As per the orders, students in these classes are granted a holiday until January 14, 2024. The principals have been instructed to undertake the necessary measures in compliance with this decision.
Cold Wave in UP
Schools were shut given the orange alert by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), predicting the cold wave conditions in several areas of Uttar Pradesh in the upcoming days.
