That’ll be the day — that he says goodbye to this mess.
A woman chased down actor Gary Busey after he allegedly hit her car on a Malibu highway and drove off — and then refused to hand over his insurance information when she caught up to him at a restaurant.
The 79-year-old “Buddy Holly Story” star is under investigation for his involvement in the alleged hit and run that happened Wednesday, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to The Post.
The woman, who was not identified, told TMZ she was driving down the Pacific Coast Highway when Busey pulled out of a shopping center and struck her back bumper before leaving the scene.
“Sir, you hit my car, I need your information,” the woman shouted to the “Point Break” star as they drove alongside each other, according to wild footage obtained by TMZ.
“Sir, you hit my car,” the woman screamed louder as Busey zoomed away.
Eventually, she caught up with the actor in a restaurant parking lot and demanded he hand over his insurance information as she pointed out scuff marks on his Volvo, according to the footage.
“I want the information,” she said sternly.
“I’m private,” Busey replied as he got back into his car.
“It doesn’t matter, you hit me,” the woman shot back. “I want the number.”
“Progressive insurance,” Busey said.
The confrontation ends with Busey taking off again as the woman keeps shouting, the TMZ video shows.
The sheriff’s office said a police report was filed and detectives still need to make contact with Busey.
No charges have been filed, though the case could be sent to the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office following the probe.
This isn’t the first time Busey has faced legal problems — or had a mishap in Malibu.
He was charged with sex crimes and harassment at the Monster-Mania convention in New Jersey last year. He said his accusers made up the allegations.
In February 2015, Busey struck a woman while backing out of a shopping center on the iconic Pacific Coast Highway. The woman was treated at the scene and released.
The actor wasn’t immediately cited, Page Six reported at the time, and investigators said there was no evidence that alcohol or drugs were involved.
Busey is best known for being a character actor who plays mostly supporting roles, though he shot to fame after appearing as Holly in the 1978 bio-pic, which garnered him an Academy Award best actor nod.
He suffered brain damage after a near-fatal motorcycle crash in 1988.
